The KGL Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to mental health advocacy and wellness by supporting the EVE Medical Foundation to commence the establishment of the Women’s Wellness and Mental Health Centre in Kumasi.

This initiative marks a significant step towards addressing mental health challenges in Ghana.

Speaking after a tour of the site for the facility, Head of Programmes at KGL Foundation, Nii Ankonnu Annorbah Sarpei, noted that this partnership is part of the Foundation’s broader vision to improve mental health services across the country.

“This won’t be the first step towards improving mental health in Asanteman, but it will also help bring forth issues affecting Ghanaians that need to be addressed by both the government and the private sector,” Mr Annorbah Sarpei stated.

The Executive Chairman of KGL Foundation, Alex Apau Dadey, also expressed his pride in supporting such a groundbreaking initiative. He highlighted the significance of establishing a mental health facility in the northern part of the country and reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring its success.

She noted that mental illnesses are often overlooked, despite their impact on individuals and society.

“Unfortunately, with all the challenges we face, some of these issues get lost in our daily lives. I’m glad that at least the private sector has heeded our call and stepped in to help create something that will elevate the problem of mental health,” she remarked.

Lady Julia commended the private sector for prioritizing mental health and supporting the Women’s Wellness and Mental Health Centre.
