The Kenyans in Ghana Association (KGA) successfully hosted its 2025 Family Fun Day recentlybringing together over 120 members of the Kenyan community in Ghana for a day filled with laughter, connection, and celebration.
Held at the University of Ghana’s Athletic Oval Field, the event welcomed both adults and children for an unforgettable afternoon of games, food, music, and bonding.
From three-legged races and football matches to dance-offs and kids’ painting sessions, the activities catered to all ages and interests.

The Family Fun Day, a flagship event on KGA’s annual calendar, is designed to promote unity and provide a platform for Kenyans living in Ghana to network, relax, and celebrate their shared identity.
This year’s edition stood out for its vibrant energy, seamless organisation, and—most importantly—a safe, injury-free environment for all.
Families arrived in team-colored shirts, ready for the fun and games. Children ran freely across the lawns, while adults joined the competitions with just as much energy and cheer.
Acting High Commissioner of the Kenya High Commission in Ghana, Mr. Kottut, who served as Guest of Honour, praised the event in his remarks:
“This event truly captured the warmth, resilience, and unity of Kenyans living abroad. It was wonderful to see our community in Ghana reconnect through fun and laughter. At the High Commission, we are proud to support initiatives that bring our diaspora together.”
Chairperson of the Association, Ms. Emma Wenani, also shared her pride in the event’s success:
“We are incredibly proud of how this year’s event turned out. It’s always heartwarming to see families come together and enjoy themselves. Events like this remind us of the importance of community and connection, even when we’re far from home.”

The success of the Family Fun Day would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors and partners, including the Kenya High Commission, Unity Homes, Multi Pac Ghana Ltd, and FanMilk.
KGA extends heartfelt thanks to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors who made the day a memorable one.
The Association looks forward to building on this success through future events that continue to strengthen the Kenyan community in Ghana.
