The Joberg Foundation, in collaboration with The Blackstar Festival, has announced the Kenkey and Seafood Charity Dinner, a cultural and philanthropic event aimed at raising funds for a housing project for autistic children.
The event will take place on 28th December 2025 at Sizzles Garden in Osu, Accra.
The charity dinner combines Ghana’s culinary heritage with a social cause, featuring a menu centred on kenkey and seafood.
Organisers say the meal symbolises community, resilience, and shared joy, while supporting a project designed to provide dignity, safety, and a sense of belonging for children living with autism.
As part of the event, the Joberg Foundation will hand over a one bedroom residential facility, in line with its broader mission to support vulnerable groups in society.
“Every child deserves a home that nurtures their potential. Through this initiative, we are building more than houses; we are building hope,” said Marketing and PR Head, Cyril-Alex Gockel.
According to the organisers, the residential facility reflects the Foundation’s commitment to inclusive infrastructure and ensuring that children with special needs are not left behind.
The partnership with The Blackstar Festival is intended to harness culture, creativity, and community engagement to inspire generosity and action.
The evening will feature live performances and cultural displays celebrating Ghanaian artistry, a curated kenkey and seafood experience highlighting local flavours, storytelling focused on autism awareness and the housing project, as well as opportunities for guests to pledge support.
Joseph Martey Marteye, Chief Executive Officer of the Joberg Foundation, described the initiative as more than a single event.
“This dinner is more than an event, it is a movement. As we hand over this 1 Bedroom facility to support our own society, we must see that together, we can transform compassion into concrete walls, roofs, and safe spaces for children who need them most.”
