Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra officially ushered in the festive season with its signature Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, an elegant tradition made even more symbolic this year as the hotel celebrates 10 years of exceptional service, luxury, and community impact.
The ceremony brought together high-profile dignitaries, including the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto; the Director of Diaspora Affairs for the Office of the President, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD); and the President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour.
In attendance were also members of the diplomatic corps, corporate leaders, media personalities, families and friends who gathered to witness the magical illumination that marks the beginning of Christmas at Kempinski.
Welcoming guests, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra, Silvia Rajniak, expressed her heartfelt appreciation and reflected on the significance of the hotel’s decade-long journey.
She noted, “For a decade, Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City has stood as a symbol of hospitality, elegance and service in the heart of Accra, and we are privileged to call Ghana our home.”
She added that the annual tree lighting has become a cherished opportunity to connect with clients, families and friends to strengthen relationships and foster a community of hope, joy and togetherness.

This year’s ceremony held personal and historic meaning as Ms Rajniak celebrated her role as the hotel’s first female General Manager, a milestone she described as reflecting both personal achievement and the hotel’s commitment to progressive leadership.
The evening also highlighted Kempinski’s continued dedication to innovation and world-class hospitality.
Earlier this year, the hotel unveiled ASANA Bar and Kitchen, a vibrant culinary destination that blends Asian techniques with Ghanaian flavours, reflecting Kempinski’s commitment to offering refined, globally inspired dining experiences.
Guests were also reminded of the hotel’s strengthened commitment to community upliftment through its expanded ‘10 Acts of Kindness’ initiative under the BE Health programme.
The initiative includes supporting breast cancer patients in collaboration with Breast Care International, donating to Accra Sempe Basic School, promoting sustainable cycling practices, and partnering with the Accra Regional Hospital to refurbish their oncology ward and paediatric day room.
These efforts represent Kempinski’s deep-rooted belief in creating meaningful impact beyond its walls.
A central highlight of this year’s celebration was the unveiling of the stunning Christmas tree designed by Ambiance by Talata.
Its creator, Talata, shared the story behind this year’s theme: “Christmas is Evergreen.”
She explained that while seasons may pass and memories may fade, the essence and spirit of Christmas remain with us always.
“At Ambiance by Talata, we believe fragrance is a powerful way to mark memories. This tree carries bubbles of scent crafted proudly here in Ghana, allowing guests to take home a piece of Christmas magic,” she said.
Throughout December, the exclusive ornaments will be available at the hotel’s East Lobby and Galleria Mall exhibition.
The evening’s most anticipated moment arrived with the official lighting of the Christmas tree, which illuminated the hotel with warm golden brilliance, symbolising the joy of the festive season.
This year, the lighting carried added significance as it served as the crown of Kempinski’s 10th-anniversary celebrations, a symbolic final moment that beautifully closed a decade of excellence with warmth, tradition and renewed purpose.
As the lights came to life, guests celebrated a moment that blended creativity, celebration and the hotel’s milestone anniversary.
The ceremony featured festive performances from children from Roman Ridge School, Gospel musician Enuonyam and highlife artiste Kwabena Kwabena.
The evening was filled with warm interactions and an atmosphere reflecting the hotel’s decade-long legacy of elegance and heartfelt hospitality.
This year’s tree lighting not only ignited the holiday spirit but also reaffirmed Kempinski’s ongoing mission to deliver exceptional experiences while celebrating culture, innovation, and community.
