Kamaldeen Sulemana’s transfer to Italian Serie A side Atalanta has been endorsed by the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
On Monday, the diminutive winger completed the first set of his mandatory medical tests ahead of his transfer to Bergamo-based side.
Didi Dramani coached Sulemana when he was 12 years old at the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana. The pair crossed paths again, when Dramani served as assistant coach at Nordjaelland, Denmark.
‘‘He will be better in that one (Serie A). I think he will excel, he told JoySports.
Italy will be the third of Europe’s top 5 leagues for Sulemana, having previously played in France (Stade Rennes), England (Southampton), and now Italy (Atalanta).

Sulemana has endured a frustrating spell in England, but could rediscover himself in Italy
On the difference of tactical cultures and skillsets required, Dramani highlighted the winger’s pace as a fundamental advantage.
‘‘Speed is a huge component when it comes to talents. When you go for a player who can run but cannot pass the ball. You take him and give him the ball. With time, he will run with it and learn how to pass the ball.’’
The Black Stars winger is expected to complete his transfer from Southampton, where he has played since moving from French side, Stade Rennes in 2023.
