Shatta Wale urges youth to support Mahama government

24-Hour Economy policy: Game-changer that needs flawless execution

Explainer: What’s inside Ghana’s 24-hour economy blueprint?

Hbtvghana.com has it that the 2015 batch of trained teachers from the Colleges of Education is calling on the government to pay them their legacy arrears in full.

The teachers however, are accused the former President John Dramani Mahama of initiating the infamous three-month pay policy which affected teachers from 3013 to 2016.
”It’s more painful and disheartening when an employee is told he/she will be paid part of his/her salary within a period of working and emphatically been alerted the rest won’t be paid. This is a threat to the psychological, emotional and social well being of the employee.”
Read the statement below:
THE CRY OF THE GHANAIAN TEACHER.THE 2015 BATCH
It’s painful when an employee doesn’t get paid after working for his / her employer.
It’s more painful and disheartening when an employee is told he/she will be paid part of his/her salary within a period of working and emphatically been alerted the rest won’t be paid. This is a threat to the psychological, emotional and social well being of the employee.
The 2015 batch of teachers are victims of this situation. This form of injustice was administered by former President John Mahama led the ruling government by paying 3 months out of a whole year’s salary.
It’s been five(5) years of working, there have been series of agitations and ‘PLEA’ for our returns from the sweat we exerted in the name of ‘working’, change of government and the likes but nothing has yet been done.
The saddest part is, batches after 2015 were relieved of this pathetic situation by receiving some arrears after the three months policy but The  2015  batch are still victims of the situation.
Though we get salaries for the months.WHAT OF THE MONTHS WE TOILED FOR?WAS IT FOR FREE? WERE WE JUST SERVING MOTHER GHANA FOR NOTHING? WILL OTHER WORKING SECTORS GO THROUGH THIS ORDEAL? WHY ALWAYS TEACHERS?
Teacher Unions always give us hope that they working to solve this issue but till now, nothing is experienced.
ARE OUR TEACHER UNIONS FIGHTING FOR US, AS THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN US HOPE?
IS THE GOVERNMENT NOT A LISTENING GOVERNMENT ANYMORE?
Why is the government not heeding to our ”PLEA” for the amount we toiled for?
Previously, teachers received what they termed ”back pay” which was used to start something in life like getting plots of land, cars for commercial purpose to boost the financial well being of the Ghanaian teacher and the start of other business but the 2015 batch were stripped of this ”Blessing”.
Teaching as a  career in Ghana has been sour and is becoming bitter. We plead with the government in power led by Nana Akuffo Addo to please turn his eye to the bleeding teacher especially the 2015 batch to put a halt to our cry and also make teaching a lucrative and enthusiasm career.
Thanks
A Concerned Teacher.
