International Development expert, Joyceline Neba, has been appointed the Director of Global Strategy for the Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network.

The YAWC Network, a non-for-profit is a confederation of young women of African descent in Africa and in the diaspora, who seek to be empowered and be themselves, change-makers for leadership and development on the continent.

At the heart of its mandate, the Network indulges itself in the mobilisation of women from the grassroots level for leadership and development through advocacy, training and projects.

The appointment of Madam Neba was contained in a letter addressed to her by the Founder and Executive Chairperson of the YAWC Network, Daniel Osei Tuffuor, in which he commended her on her appointment and wished her well in her new roles.

Her appointment is for a period of two years renewable upon completion of a tenure.

In her role as the Director for Global Strategy for the YAWC Network, Ms Neba will be responsible for developing, guiding, and executing the organization’s long-term strategic vision across the globe, while leading the development of organizational strategies that span multiple regions, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives and driving sustainable growth.

She will also work cross-functionally with various departments and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, address challenges, and monitor growth trends to ensure the organization’s competitive advantage in international markets.

As part of her key responsibilities is performance monitoring and reporting in which she is expected to establish and track performance metrics to evaluate the success of global strategies and initiatives and report on the progress of strategic goals to senior leadership, adjusting strategies as needed based on performance results.

Additionally, she will also be expected to lead efforts aimed at adapting and transforming organizational models in response to global changes in organizational behaviour, regulatory environments, and technology, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and adaptability within the global strategy team.

About Joyceline Neba

International Development Expert, Madam Joyceline Neba has over 16 years of experience within the United Nations (UN) and other top-tier international organizations designing, implementing and monitoring high impact initiatives, optimizing resource allocation, and driving compliance.

She holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from the University of Portsmouth, UK; a Master’s degree in Translation from the Advanced School of Translators and Interpreters (ASTI), Cameroon; a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management from the University of Liverpool, Uk; a certificate in Project Management from the United Nations System Staff College, Italy and a certificate in Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding from the University of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

She holds the prestigious Project Management Professional PMP® certification and is also certified in results-based management.

In her current role as Programme Officer with UN Women Cameroon, she has spearheaded the implementation of projects in the field of Women’s political participation, women’s economic empowerment, gender-based violence as well as women, peace and security, humanitarian and disaster risk-reduction, all geared at achieving gender equality and fostering women’s empowerment, contributing in bridging the gender gap.

In her previous role as Programme Administrator for GFA Consulting Group GmbH, providing technical and financial oversight for the Programme for the sustainable management for natural resources, she handled the gender and HIV components of the project, successfully involving women in natural resources management and improving their livelihoods through the implementation of income generating activities.

She also served as the communication hub, producing and distributing high-quality reports and promotional materials, improving project visibility and stakeholder engagement.

She is co-founder of the organization, Gender for Sustainable Development (GEN4SUD), a local non-governmental organization, countering dependence on foreign aid by proffering local solutions to empower women. 

She is an avid learner, results-oriented and creative individual, on the constant look out for new ideas and ways to work around problems and move things forward.
