Former Deputy Transport Minister and Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Alhassan Tampuli, has touted major infrastructure improvements in his constituency, claiming that he has “almost tarred all roads in Gushegu.”
Speaking in an interview, the MP highlighted road development as one of his key achievements since assuming office, noting that improved road networks have transformed mobility and trading activities in the area.
According to Mr Tampuli, many communities that previously struggled with dusty, muddy, or impassable routes now enjoy significantly better access due to ongoing and completed road projects.
He said the improvement of road infrastructure has eased transportation challenges for farmers, market women, students and business owners who rely heavily on road networks for daily activities.
He explained that the scale of work undertaken in Gushegu reflects a deliberate effort to open the constituency for economic expansion.
Mr Tampuli noted that better road connectivity has reduced travel time, enhanced security, and increased the movement of goods between Gushegu and neighbouring districts.
“This is how development begins—when people can move freely and safely,” he said.
The MP emphasised that these projects are part of a broader vision to modernise the constituency’s infrastructure.
He mentioned that plans are underway to complete the remaining portions that currently lack asphalt or surface improvements, assuring residents that no community will be left behind.
“We are not stopping until every major road in Gushegu is upgraded,” he added.
Mr Tampuli also urged residents to support ongoing development efforts, noting that sustained progress requires cooperation between the community and its leadership.
He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Gushegu receives its fair share of national infrastructure investments.
