Prospects International School has advanced to the semifinal stage of the 2025 Inter-School Reading Quiz (ISRQ) after a hard-fought and thrilling quarterfinal victory over Golden Angels School.
In what was arguably one of the most intense contests of the tournament so far, Prospects International School edged out their opponents by a narrow margin of just three points, keeping their championship hopes alive.

The showdown began with Golden Angels School displaying early dominance. Their team opened strong in Round 1, racking up 24 points and establishing a three-point lead over Prospects International, who scored 21 points. It was a strong start that suggested Golden Angels might be on course to join the list of semifinalists.
But Prospects International had other plans. In Round 2, their team came back determined and focused, closing the gap and eventually overtaking Golden Angels.
Prospects put up 22 points in the round, while Golden Angels managed 19, which left both schools nearly neck-and-neck heading into the final stretch.
The contest remained tense and unpredictable in the final round. Both teams delivered a mix of confident answers and close calls, but in the end, Prospects International emerged victorious with a total score of 55.5 points, narrowly surpassing Golden Angels School’s 52.5 points.
This victory marks a significant milestone for Prospects International, who now join Dansoman Cluster B Schools and Divine Montessori School in the semifinal lineup. Both schools had earlier secured their spots after dominant performances in their respective quarterfinal matches.
As the competition heats up, all eyes are now on the last quarterfinal clash between Lighthouse Christian School and Alpha Beta Educational Centres, which will determine the fourth and final school to qualify for the semifinals of this year’s ISRQ.
The Inter-School Reading Quiz has become one of the country’s most anticipated academic competitions, celebrating literacy, comprehension, and critical thinking among basic school pupils.
This year’s edition has featured dramatic comebacks, standout individual performances, and remarkable teamwork signs that the spirit of academic excellence is thriving in Ghana’s classrooms.
With the semifinal stage just around the corner, fans, teachers, and students alike are bracing for even more excitement as the journey to crown the 2025 ISRQ champion continues.
