Interior Minister urges Ghanaians to pray for gov't amid development efforts

Pray for government as we work to deliver development – Interior Minister

The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has urged Ghanaians to continue praying for the government as it works to fulfil the mandate given to it by the electorate in last year’s polls.

He made the call on Sunday, December 14, while addressing the annual Damba Festival celebrations at Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

Mr Muntaka said the government remains committed to advancing national development through the effective implementation of its policies and programmes.

The Interior Minister attended the event with the Municipal Chief Executive of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, other government officials, the Ashanti Regional Gonja Community Chief, and revered Gonja Queen Mothers.

Speaking in line with the festival theme, “Maintaining Peace and Preserving Tradition for Community Development: The Role of Chiefs and Queen Mothers,” Mr Muntaka highlighted peace, unity and harmony as critical pillars for sustainable community development.

He also conveyed his personal goodwill and that of President John Dramani Mahama to the Gonja community.

The Asawase lawmaker outlined key government interventions aimed at improving the welfare of citizens and strengthening national cohesion.

“I further took the opportunity to highlight key government interventions and policies aimed at improving the welfare of our people and strengthening national cohesion,” he noted in a Facebook post after the event.

He concluded by appealing to chiefs, queen mothers and members of the Gonja community to continue supporting the government through prayers.

“I concluded by appealing to all present to continue to offer prayers for the government, as it remains committed to faithfully delivering on its mandate for the advancement of our nation,” he added.
