The Minister for the Interior and MP for Asawase, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has expressed his profound sadness following the tragic helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 6, at Adansi Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.
The accident claimed the lives of two ministers of state, other government officials, and members of the crew.
In a post shared on Facebook, Minister Mohammed-Mubarak described the victims as men of “great integrity, kindness and loyalty” who had contributed immensely to the development of Ghana.
“Their presence brought light to those around them, and their loss will be deeply felt by all who knew them,” he said.
The Minister extended his sincere condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the eight distinguished Ghanaians who perished in the devastating incident.
He also conveyed his deepest sympathies to President John Dramani Mahama, acknowledging the loss of such valuable individuals whose commitment to national service was unquestionable.
“This is a monumental loss to our nation,” he added. “Their dedication, service, and sacrifices will forever be remembered and honoured.”

The Minister appealed for divine comfort for the bereaved and eternal rest for those who have passed.
“May the Almighty God comfort all the bereaved families and grant the departed eternal rest,” he wrote.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, announced the tragic news at a press conference and directed that all national flags be flown at half-mast in honour of the deceased. He also extended the government’s condolences to the bereaved families and the nation.
Other victims include Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Samuel Aboagye, a former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East; and Samuel Sarpong, a Vice Chairman of the NDC and a former Kumasi Mayor.
