Immediate past IET-GH president urges engineers to enter politics

The Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET-GH), has inducted a new batch of members in Wa, using the occasion to make a strong case for greater political participation by engineers to help shape national development.

Addressing the gathering, the Immediate past President of IET-GH, Engr. Henry Kwadwo Boateng urged engineers to step beyond their traditional professional roles and actively engage in politics and governance.

He stressed that the technical expertise of engineers is essential to informed policymaking and sustainable national progress.

The Wa ceremony marked Engr. Boateng’s final induction event as president, bringing his tenure to a close with a passionate call for engineers to embrace leadership in public life.

According to him, professional bodies like IET-GH can significantly influence government decisions when their members take up roles in politics and public service.
