
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on Thursday, January 15, promoted 35 police officers in recognition of their outstanding role in the arrest of suspects involved in the Adabraka gold robbery in Accra.
The promotions were awarded to officers who demonstrated exceptional professionalism, dedication, and teamwork during operations that led to the arrest of suspects linked to the high-profile daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in Adabraka in November 2024.

Mr Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, leadership and accountability in the discharge of their duties.
He also encouraged them to continue working diligently in the service of the nation.

The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as a way of strengthening professionalism, boosting morale and enhancing effective policing across the country.
On Saturday, November 2, 20224, the Adabraka Market in Accra was rocked by a daring morning robbery. Four masked assailants, armed with heavy firearms, targeted a man seated in a red Toyota Corolla parked near the bustling market.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the robbers approached the vehicle with guns raised, instantly firing several warning shots into the air to scatter the crowd.
