Helicopter crash: Ghana Sociological and Anthropological Association mourns victims, urges respectful conduct

The Ghana Sociological and Anthropological Association (GSAA) has expressed deep sorrow over the recent helicopter crash that has claimed multiple lives, extending heartfelt condolences to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of the victims.

In a statement issued at the close of its 9th Annual Conference, the association said it stood “in unwavering solidarity” with all those affected, noting that the tragedy has shaken not only Ghana but also global communities connected to the nation.

“Our thoughts are with the bereaved families, and all those who have been emotionally, psychologically, or otherwise impacted by this tragedy,” the GSAA said.

The association acknowledged the commencement of official investigations into the incident and called on Ghanaians to exercise patience and allow the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough, independent, and transparent inquiry.

In line with its values of preserving human dignity and social responsibility, the GSAA appealed to the public to refrain from sharing or circulating graphic images and videos of the victims.

“May the souls of the departed rest in peace,” the statement concluded, signed by Prof. William Boateng, GSAA National Convenor.
