The King of Akpini State, Okpekpewuokpe Togbui Dagadu IX, has joined other key personalities to mourn the victims of the tragic military helicopter crash involving the Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Mohammed Murtala and six others on Wednesday.

In a press statement issued in Kpando, Togbui Dagadu IX described the incident as a national tragedy that has cast a dark shadow over the entire country.

The Akpinifia recalled a recent meeting with the late Minister at his office in Accra, during which matters of mutual interest that concern the people of Kpando and the Ministry of Defence were discussed.

He noted the Minister’s humility, warmth, and sincere dedication to fostering civil–military relations in the Volta Region.

“The Honourable Minister received me with grace and demonstrated a genuine commitment to collaboration in the service of peace and national development,” the King stated.
