As Ghana prepares for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for December, citizens are being called upon to preserve peace, bearing in mind their shared identity as one people and one nation with a common destiny.

At the 21st Thanksgiving service by the First Sky Group held at the Accra International Conference Centre, the Group Chairman of the First Sky Group, Mr Eric Seddy Kutortse, emphasized the importance of unity and harmony during the electoral process.

The call for national unity echoes the sentiment that regardless of political affiliations, Ghanaians share a common destiny and must work towards the betterment of the nation.

Mr Eric Seddy Kutortse noted that the plea for peaceful elections is not uncommon in Ghana, a country known for its stable democracy in the West African region.

However, he said with the impending polls, the stakes are high, and concerns over potential tensions have prompted leaders to be proactive in promoting a peaceful atmosphere.

Political leaders from various parties also joined the call for peace, urging their supporters to engage in peaceful campaigns and avoid any actions that could incite violence. The leaders acknowledged the diversity of opinions within the nation but emphasized the need for respectful dialogue and adherence to democratic principles.
