The Ghana Real Estate Developers’ Association (GREDA) has extended its sympathy to the Presidency, affected families, and Ghanaians over Wednesday’s helicopter crash at Adansi Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, in which eight public servants perished.
GREDA, in a statement signed by James Condua Orleans-Lindsay, the President, extended its condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government, families of the victims, and the entire nation for the tragic loss.
“May the souls of these eight national heroes rest in peace,” it said.
The helicopter crash occurred Wednesday morning, August 6, which killed eight persons, including Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence, Dr. Murtala Muhammed, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Agriculture Minister.
The others were Dr Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Aboagye, former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Malin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
The victims were attending an anti-illegal mining event, known as the Responsible Co-operative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) at Obuasi.
