GPL 2025/26: Penalty awarded to Kotoko ‘was so easy’ – Hearts boss Didi

Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has described Asante Kotoko’s penalty as “so easy,” the moment that decided the Ghana Premier League Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kotoko attacker Peter Amidu Acquah darted into the 18-yard box and fell after contact with Hearts defender Yaw Amankwa Baafi.

The resulting spot-kick was converted by Guinean forward Morifing Donzo, handing Hearts their first defeat of the season.

“We lost but I think we don’t deserve to lose,” Didi said in the post-match interview.

“In my opinion, and in the opinion of everyone who was observing, you could see we controlled some portions of the game, and in other portions, Kotoko were also dangerous in their transitional play.

“We didn’t do well [and] it’s an area we would want to continuously improve. I think it [penalty] was so easy, even though we could have defended better in my opinion because we had trained on this.”

Hearts now sit 5th on the league table with 16 points and will look to return to winning ways in their next encounter against Swedru All Blacks on November 16.
