Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 3-2 victory, inspired by Albert Amoah over Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium in Week 33 of the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko were held to a goalless draw in their previous game against GoldStars and needed a win to keep their slim title hopes alive.
Yet, they went behind after five minutes when Kingsley Braye raced clear to beat Camara Mohammed to put Medeama one up.
Albert Amoah scored from a penalty in the 23rd minute to restore parity before putting the hosts ahead with a powerful near post header in the 40th minute.
Manuel Mantey struck in the 67th minute to equalize for the visitors but Amoah had the last laugh with a fine header to secure all three points for Kotoko.
Despite the win, Karim Zito’s side still trail leaders Nations FC by two points and face Vision FC in their last match of the season.
Medeama sit fifth on the table and come up against Berekum Chelsea in their final fixture of the campaign.
