Felix Kwakye Ofosu

Government says it is committed to pursuing the investigative work of Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), while ensuring that the rights of suspects are protected.

This is according to Minister of State for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

Speaking on JoyFM’s Top Story Mr. Kwakye Ofosu acknowledged public concern over corruption allegations and emphasised that investigations under ORAL will be conducted with respect for due process.

The Minister was responding to issues of public perception around the government’s inaction regarding some key areas, including the flagship ORAL.

He noted that government officials do not want suspects to suffer unfair treatment in the name of accountability.

He says suspects must be given their rights, not abused unfairly, even as legal proceedings move forward.

“Government is very serious about all that. As the President indicated during his media interaction, there’s a need to follow due process so that, in a bid to fight corruption, we also do not abuse the rights of citizens. It is important as a government, we are minded to respect that, and that is precisely what we are doing,” on Tuesday, September 16.

According to previous public statements, ORAL has already questioned dozens of individuals in connection with alleged financial misconduct.

In May 2025, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu revealed that 65 individuals have been interrogated so far in relation to over 200 cases flagged under the initiative.

He said government remains open to suggestions from the public as the Attorney General prosecutes these cases, ensuring transparency and community input in how the investigations are handled.
