Government’s reset agenda will take time to materialise – Ho Central MP

The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has indicated that the Mahama-led government’s Reset Agenda may not have an immediate impact but will bear fruit in the long term.

He explained that the government used 2025 as a launchpad to set the foundation for addressing the country’s challenges by introducing programmes, policies, and interventions.

Mr. Kpotosu said this when he presented five sets of desktop computers and four ceiling fans to the Ziavi-Lume E.P. Basic School in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region.

“The President’s agenda of resetting is not going to be easy with all of us. Even with you, when you fall sick, and you are recuperating, it takes time. So, the resetting is going to take a long time than expected,” he said.

He, therefore, asked Ghanaians to exercise restraint as the necessary steps are being taken towards economic recovery, reducing inflation, and creating jobs, among others, to make the country better.

“At least, for 2025, Ghanaians sacrificed a lot, so let us do the same for 2026; then there is going to be a takeoff for us,” he said.

Mr. Kpotosu explained that the government is not self-seeking, as it takes an interest in the well-being of the citizenry and therefore considers this in its operations and planning.

“This government is not a government for itself. It is a government for the people. So, all the things that we do are for the people, not for ourselves,” he stressed.

Donation of five computers

Mr. Kpotosu explained that he is poised to distribute development in the over 69 communities in his constituency, promising each community would receive its fair share in due course.

“I have over 69 communities in my constituency, so everything that I get, I have to make sure I give it out small, small, small; everybody must get. So that is what I am doing. This morning in Akrofu Agove M/A Junior High School, I gave them five desktop computers, and now I am here giving Ziavi Lume Basic School 5 and four fans,” he said.

He added that the donation is geared towards promoting the study of Information and Communication Technology in the enclave, aiming to prepare the pupils for the fourth industrial revolution, “the Artificial Intelligence era”.

He assured Ziavi-Lume community leaders of his support to drive development in their jurisdictions in all the identified sectors.
