GMB 2024 winner, Queen Nihad Titiaka meets President Mahama; seeks support for her Climate Action Project

The reigning Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) Queen, Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, has paid a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, at the Jubilee House, where she presented her flagship project, “Empowering Communities for Climate Action.”

The meeting, which Queen Nihad described as “a truly unforgettable moment”, symbolised not only her personal achievement but also a broader commitment to community empowerment and climate resilience.

Gratitude to President Mahama

Queen Nihad expressed profound appreciation to President Mahama for the support he extended to her during the GMB competition; support she believes contributed to her historic victory. Her win marked the first time the prestigious GMB crown was brought to the Savannah Region, a milestone she regards as both personal and collective.

“This milestone was not just a personal victory but also a collective one for my region, and I remain forever grateful,” she said.

Advocacy for Sustainable Communities

Central to the meeting was the presentation of Queen Nihad’s advocacy project, “Empowering Communities for Climate Action.” The initiative focuses on climate education, tree planting, recycling, waste management, and the promotion of clean cooking solutions and the construction of a 3-Unit Classroom Block in the Savannah Region. She called on the President for his guidance and support in scaling up the project’s impact across the country.

According to Queen Titiaka, Ghana’s future depends on sustainable development strategies that combine leadership, youth innovation, and grassroots participation.

Inspired by Leadership

Reflecting on the encounter, the former UPSA SRC Women’s Commissioner commended President Mahama’s leadership and dedication to national development, describing him as a source of inspiration.
“His Excellency’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to national development continue to inspire me deeply. It strengthens my resolve to keep working towards a greener, more sustainable future for Ghana and beyond,” she stated.

Youth Leadership at the Forefront

As the Winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, Queen Nihad Titiaka has used her platform not only to celebrate culture but also to champion causes that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Her focus on climate action places her among a growing group of young African leaders using advocacy, innovation, and grassroots engagement to respond to the climate crisis.

The meeting with President Mahama underscores the importance of collaboration between government, youth leaders, and civil society in tackling pressing issues such as environmental degradation and climate change.
