In a fiercely contested election that kept members on edge, King Freeman Xorlali Nutsukpoe, a morning show host and news anchor with Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) Volta Star Radio, has emerged victorious as the new Treasurer of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Volta Region.

The elections, held on Monday, 30th June 2025, saw King Freeman clinch victory by a razor-thin margin of one vote, narrowly defeating the incumbent, Ewoenam Kpodo.

The outcome reflects the trust and confidence members have reposed in his capabilities and his five-point thematic campaign agenda.

In his victory address, King Freeman expressed heartfelt gratitude to members for entrusting him with what he described as a critical mandate at a crucial moment, when the association is in urgent need of funds to complete phase two of the Volta Press Centre project.

He acknowledged the weight of responsibility that comes with overseeing the association’s finances and pledged to ensure prudent financial management and full transparency.
