The President of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Ing Ludwig Annang Hesse, the Council and the entire membership of GhIE has expressed sadness over the heartbreaking helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight illustrious Ghanaians.
It therefore joins the Government, Ghana Armed Forces and the Families of the victims in mourning: Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Defence Minister, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Environment Minister, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna – Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Samuel Sarpong – NDC Vice-Chairman, Samuel Aboagye – former parliamentary candidate, and three dedicated military officers: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
In a statement, it said these distinguished men have indeed served their country with dedication and distinction.
“Their tragic loss is a national tragedy that has affected GhIE as an institution responsible for engineering in the country and every Ghanaian”, it added.
“GhIE expresses its deepest condolences to the families, the Government of Ghana, and the Ghana Armed Forces during this period of national mourning. We stand with all Ghanaians in prayer, seeking comfort and strength for the bereaved families and the institutions affected by this tragic loss”, it pointed out.
May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace, it concluded.
