Ghanaian artiste, Camidoh, has shared his insights on how Ghanaian artistes can secure nominations at the Grammys.
Speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he suggested that the key thing is to learn and understand the criteria set by the Grammys, just as Nigerian artistes have done successfully.
“The Grammys have criteria and one of them is releasing your album In the American market because it’s an American award. Nigerians learnt everything about Grammys criteria and they got the nominations and so we as Ghanaian artistes have to show working,” he said
[embedded content]The Sugarcane hitmaker expressed confidence in his abilities as an artiste and believes he can make it to the Grammys.
“I tweeted that next year ‘see you at the Grammys’ because I believe I’m a great artiste and will make a great body of work,” he said.
Camidoh highlighted some of the criteria Ghanaian artistes need to follow to get Grammys nominations as releasing songs in the American market, creating high-quality music, effective marketing strategies, and demonstrating a consistent work ethic.
“It’s just for us to learn how it plays with them (The Grammys) and also show working as some of the criteria to gain a nomination in the Grammys,” he suggested.
According to Camidoh, reggae/dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, executed remarkable marketing strategies in the American market with his music hence he believes that this will be the final step towards success for Stonebwoy.
The Afrobeat singer Camidoh went ahead to predict that the ‘Therapy’ hitmaker will secure a nomination at the Grammys next year.
“I think Stonebwoy did the American marketing with his music and I’m guessing this is the last step of his failure. I believe strongly that Stonebwoy will get nominations in the Grammys for the next one,” he concluded.
