The Paramount Chief of Sagnarigu, Ambassador Sagnari NaaYamunu Abdulai, has reiterated that Ghana would be able to earn enough from exports to cushion its currency and reduce dependency on foreign goods, should structures be put in place for the agricultural sector.

According to him, proper structuring of the agricultural sector through an increase in production and the addition of values would aid Ghana in producing for itself.

The Paramount Chief made this known at the Maxwell Investments Ghana (MIG) Business Forum 2023.

“Agriculture with the right measures in place, in my view, is the low-hanging fruit from which we can get rapid results in terms of productivity increase and value addition in the short term, which will enable our country not only to feed itself. But also earn more from substantially exporting to cushion our currency as well as reduce our dependency on foreign goods and accompany vulnerabilities to external shocks that threaten the very sovereignty of our country”, he said.

He added that Zongo communities play a vital role in the development of the country, so they should be considered for that.

He expressed his happiness over the choice of topics and areas for discussions that help improve the Zongo communities.

“Our Zongo communities are important cogs in the wheel of national development, and their role in this respect cannot be underestimated”, he said.

The second edition of the MIG Business Forum will focus on the theme ‘Scaling Entrepreneurial Success through Collaboration and Sustainability’ scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Monday August 7, 2023.

The next edition will focus on building upon the success of the first edition and emphasizing the importance of collaboration and sustainability in entrepreneurship. The theme reflects the commitment of Maxwell Investments Group and the Zongo & Inner Cities Development Secretariat (ZICDS) to fostering a supportive ecosystem that empowers the current and the next generation of entrepreneurs to create lasting change and drive economic growth.

By highlighting the need for cooperative efforts and sustainable practices, the MIG Business Forum aims to encourage entrepreneurs to work together, share resources, and embrace eco-friendly business models for the benefit of the entire community.
