The Ministry of Information is set to launch the Online Records Management System (ORMS).

The system, which would be deployed in 2024 is to streamline online right to information requests.

According to the Ministry, the system will provide “enhanced transparency, empowering citizens in their right to access information.”

This was contained in a statement marking the International Day for Universal Access to Information 2023.

“On this day the 28th of September, we celebrate the International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI). The theme, ‘The Importance of the Online Space for Access to Information,’ highlights the Internet’s pivotal role in information access,” the statement read.

According to the Ministry, the introduction of ORMS would be the next step to ensuring a more transparent fight against corruption across all public institutions.
