The Ghana Police Service has announced heightened security measures across the country to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter holiday.
According to the Service in a statement issued on Thursday, April 2, personnel have been strategically deployed to key locations, including event grounds, recreational centres, and popular tourist sites, with particular focus on the Kwahu enclave, a hotspot for holiday activities.
Police said operational teams are actively patrolling major routes leading to and from Kwahu, while traffic management officers have been positioned to reduce congestion and maintain smooth movement of vehicles. Intelligence units have also been activated nationwide to detect and respond promptly to any potential criminal activity.
The Service has urged the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and follow all safety guidelines.
Motorists have been reminded to observe traffic regulations, avoid speeding, refrain from drunk driving, and follow directions from law enforcement officers.
In addition, citizens are encouraged to safeguard their personal belongings and report any suspicious behaviour to the nearest police officer or station.
The Ghana Police Service wished the public a safe and enjoyable Easter, reiterating its commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive period.
