Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed received a high-level delegation from Burkina Faso, led by Minister of Transport and Territorial Administration, Emile Zerbo, at his office in Accra on Thursday, April 2.
The meeting, which also included the Burkinabe Ambassador to Ghana, focused on enhancing cooperation across key sectors and deepening diplomatic engagement.
Minister Mohammed highlighted the enduring historical and cultural ties between the two countries, noting that the discussions reflected the shared interests and long-standing friendship between Ghana and Burkina Faso.

He also acknowledged Burkina Faso’s support during critical times, including last year’s Gbinyiri conflict, when some Ghanaians sought refuge in Burkina Faso, and in response to the recent tragic killings of Ghanaian traders in Burkina Faso.

The Minister reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to regional peace and security, calling for continued dialogue and joint initiatives to promote mutual benefit and stability across the two nations.
