Historic Direct Flight from Accra to Bridgetown to Take Off This November Through GUBA Awards and Trade Conference 2025

For the first time in history, a direct flight will connect Accra, Ghana, and Bridgetown, Barbados — a groundbreaking development set to take place this November as part of the GUBA Awards and Trade & Investment Conference 2025.

The chartered flight, organised by GUBA Enterprise in collaboration with leading aviation and travel partners, will transport African and Caribbean leaders, investors, and creatives to Barbados for a week-long programme celebrating trade, innovation, and African excellence.

This milestone not only marks a major step forward in Africa–Caribbean relations but also symbolises a powerful reconnection between two regions bound by shared heritage and history.

Founder and President of GUBA Enterprise, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, said:

“To further this mission, we are proud to announce that we are going to be doing a chartered flight from Ghana to Barbados. This historic flight is symbolic of what GUBA stands for — breaking barriers, building bridges, and creating access to opportunity.”

Set under the theme “Reclaiming Our Atlantic Destiny: Connect. Build. Renew.”, the GUBA Awards Barbados 2025 will run from 9th to 13th November, featuring the GUBA Trade & Investment Conference (10–11 November) and the prestigious GUBA Awards Ceremony (12 November).

Delegates from Ghana, Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora are expected to join over 400 high-level participants, including policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs, for discussions on trade, investment, tourism, and innovation.

The maiden flight represents a new chapter in South–South cooperation, echoing renewed calls for deeper economic and cultural collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean.

Office of Diaspora Affairs Endorses GUBA Awards and Investment Conference 2025 in Barbados

The Diaspora Affairs Office, Office of the President of the Republic of Ghana (DAOOP), has formally endorsed the upcoming GUBA Investment Conference and Awards 2025, set to take place in Barbados from November 10–12, 2025.

In an official statement (Ref. No: DAOOP/ENDL/0109/25), dated 1st September 2025, the Diaspora Affairs Office described the GUBA initiatives as “milestone events” that reaffirm the crucial role of the Ghanaian and broader African diaspora in advancing cultural diplomacy, strengthening economic partnerships, and fostering Pan-African collaboration.

The GUBA Investment Conference, scheduled for 10th–11th November 2025, is positioned as a strategic platform to deepen Africa–Caribbean trade and investment, with a focus on tourism, sustainable development, and diaspora-led capital mobilisation.

According to the statement, these objectives align closely with the implementation of Ghana’s Diaspora Engagement Policy, which seeks to create structured pathways for diaspora communities to contribute to national transformation.

The Office further noted that the conference’s emphasis on innovation and partnership supports the government’s 24-hour economy mandate and Ghana’s broader socio-economic priorities.

The endorsement also highlighted the significance of the GUBA Awards, which take place on 12th November 2025 under the theme “Reclaiming Our Atlantic Destiny: Connect. Build. Renew.” The statement described the Awards as “an equally significant cultural moment that celebrates excellence, resilience, and heritage across the Afro-Caribbean community.”

It further added that this focus “echoes our guiding theme of ‘Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers,’ as we seek to reaffirm shared identity while unlocking new opportunities for growth and solidarity.”

Expressing gratitude for the endorsement, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, President and CEO of GUBA Enterprise, stated:

“This endorsement from the Office of Diaspora Affairs is a major affirmation of GUBA’s mission — to bridge continents, create opportunities, and advance the global African story. Together, we are building a shared future rooted in connection, commerce, and community.”

The Diaspora Affairs Office also confirmed plans to collaborate closely with GUBA Enterprise to ensure the success of the Barbados edition, including visibility across global networks, institutional coordination, and facilitation of strategic partnerships that advance Ghana’s diaspora and development agenda.

Tickets and packages for the GUBA Investment Conference and Awards 2025 in Barbados are now available via www.gubaawards.com.
