GGFS 2025: 'Urban places, green spaces' to light up Ghana from Sept. 20–28th

Strategic Communications Africa Ltd. (Stratcomm Africa) is delighted to announce the 13th edition of the Ghana Garden and Flower Show (GGFS), taking place from September 20–28th at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park, Accra.

This year’s Show, themed “Urban Places, Green Spaces”, shines a spotlight on the urgent need to reimagine Ghana’s urban environments as vibrant ecosystems of sustainability, wellness, and opportunity.

As cities face growing climate pressures, the theme underscores the role of green infrastructure in creating healthier and more resilient urban spaces.

The inspiration for this year’s direction builds on powerful insights shared by Charles Abani, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ghana and keynote speaker at GGFS 2024, who emphasised the importance of embedding sustainability into urban planning policies.

His message resounded with the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement (GGFM) and has helped shape this year’s vision: a Ghana where concrete jungles give way to green sanctuaries that nourish both people and the planet.

“In the face of global challenges with Climate Change, the transformation of our urban environment is not optional – it is an urgent necessity.

“This Show is not just an event: it remains a Movement. One that recognises green spaces as essential to how we live, work and thrive. We must be intentional about reclaiming our cities for both people and plants.”

She added, “We invite individuals, organisations, development partners, corporate bodies, and educational institutions to be part of GGFS 2025, as exhibitors, sponsors, partners, or visitors.

“Let us work together to turn our cities into thriving centres of health, innovation, beauty and shared prosperity.”
