His Royal Majesty King Tackie Tsuru II, Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, has paid a courtesy call on Onesta Ghana Limited, pledging his full support for the company’s ambitious palm oil production project aimed at transforming Ghana into a key player in the global palm oil market.
Onesta Ghana, an agro-industrial firm specialising in oil palm development, processing, and trade facilitation, recently launched the Redgold Oil Palm Plantation (ROPP), a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project designed to build a fully integrated and sustainable oil palm value chain in Ghana.
Welcoming the company’s decision to set up its headquarters in Accra, King Tackie Tsuru II congratulated the Onesta Ghana team for successfully launching the ROPP project. He underscored the transformative potential of palm oil production for both the Ga State and Ghana’s wider economy.
“I acknowledge the importance of palm oil and its benefits. I believe this project from Onesta Ghana, with collaboration, will drive progress and development,” he stated. “This initiative will create massive employment for the youth and promote exports. I promise, within my powers, to support this good move for the development of the Ga State and the nation at large.”
Strengthening Partnerships for Growth
The Board Chairman of Onesta Ghana, Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, highlighted the cultural and symbolic significance of the Ga Mantse’s visit, describing it as a vital step in fostering meaningful partnerships.
“As the custodian of the land on which we operate, the Ga Mantse commands great respect among traditional leaders in Ghana. We cannot begin this journey without first seeking his blessings and guidance,” Dr Spio-Garbrah said. “Our leadership is open to continuous engagement, guidance, and collaboration from the Ga Mantse.”
Executive Director of Onesta Ghana, Maxwell Nii Commey, also expressed gratitude to His Royal Majesty for the visit and reiterated the company’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate.

In response, King Tackie Tsuru II reaffirmed his commitment to assist Onesta Ghana in acquiring additional lands through traditional institutions, further assuring the company of his readiness to collaborate to realise the shared vision of economic progress.
Onesta Ghana’s initiative is expected to significantly boost local palm oil production, create jobs, and promote exports—aligning with national efforts to diversify the economy and strengthen agro-industrial development.
