Confusion, long queues, and visible frustration greeted hundreds of parents and guardians at various Senior High Schools in the Volta Region as the nationwide enrolment exercise for first-year students got underway.
At Mawuko Senior High School in Ho, parents who arrived as early as 8:00 a.m. were still waiting for their turn by midday.
Some parents complained of being overlooked while others appeared to receive “protocol treatment.”

Amid the mounting tension, the Assistant Head of Academic at Mawuko SHS, Benjamin Bodza, clarified that the registration officially began around 10:00 a.m. and that over 200 students had already been processed.
He explained that the procedure involved several stages, which naturally slowed down the registration.
“We understand the frustration but the exercise will continue throughout the week, giving everyone ample time to complete the process.
“We encourage parents to remain calm and patient.”
