
A forex bureau, which also doubles as a gold dealership, has been robbed of an amount of GH₵400,000.
Two armed robbers, on a motorbike, stole from the shop owner at about 11:00 am on Thursday at Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
In an interview with Adom News, the owner, Alhaji Mumuni revealed that his money got stolen while he was with his brother.
He narrated that the suspects monitored them from Kasoa Zongo and robbed them at Amanfrom Top town while they were on their way to buy gold from a customer.
Alhaji Mumuni indicated that upon reaching a section of the road, the robbers on motorbikes stopped them, pulled out pistols and started firing in the sky.
The business owner said that after failing to hand over the bag, the suspects started firing directly at them.
He revealed that the bag they managed to snatch contained GH₵250,000 cash and gold worth GH₵150,000.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Essel who witnessed the incident said bystanders wanted to intervene but the suspects directed the gun at them claiming to be police officers.
