WeComm Agri-Media & Consultancy has launched the first edition of its flagship experiential learning initiative, ‘INSPIRE by WeComm’, with a field visit to the Evivi Foods Factory in Akuse.

The event brought together a diverse group of professionals, including participants from the GIRSAL Agriculture and Agribusiness Lending Course for staff of financial institutions.

Participants were hosted at the processing site of Evivi Foods, producers of the popular Evivi Rice and Happy Chicken, where they experienced firsthand the inner workings of one of Ghana’s thriving agribusinesses.

The session was led by specialists from NewAge Agric Solutions Limited, the project’s technical partners, who guided the group through the value chain and production processes.

The factory tour served the core objective of the INSPIRE initiative—to bridge the gap between the financial and agriculture sectors by immersing participants in the realities of modern agribusiness. From rice milling to poultry processing, attendees were visibly impressed by the scale and sophistication of operations at Evivi Foods.

Speaking during the session, Asare Ohene Bediako, Business Development Manager at NewAge Agric Solutions, highlighted the importance of such engagements.

“GIRSAL decided to bring the bankers to our site to take them through some processes along the agriculture value chain.

“We’ve shown them the systems involved in rice milling and agricultural practices in general. This was done to bridge the gap between banks and agriculture sector players,” he said.

Bediako expressed confidence that the program would challenge long-held misconceptions about agriculture among some of the participants.

“I believe this will change a lot of myths and perceptions they had about the agricultural sector in Ghana before coming to our factory,” he added.

The session also featured a visit from Alex Mould, Chief Executive of the Millennium Development Authority, who toured the milling facility alongside participants.

He acknowledged the pressing infrastructure challenges facing the sector, particularly access to quality roads, but was optimistic about ongoing efforts to address them.

Mr Mould pledged government support to create an enabling environment for companies like NewAge Agric Solutions Limited to thrive.

The INSPIRE by WeComm project—sponsored by NewAge Agric Solutions and Evivi Foods—is designed to offer agriculture enthusiasts, young professionals, and corporate stakeholders an immersive experience into Ghana’s vibrant agriculture landscape.

The initiative will be delivered in a series of cohorts, with activities held at Evivi Foods in Akuse and other selected agribusiness hubs across the country.
