Fidelity Bank honours agents, unveils 2026 roadmap to revolutionise agency banking

Fidelity Bank Ghana has successfully concluded its nationwide Agent Engagement and Awards Night, culminating in a national ceremony held at Amber Garden, Tesano, Accra.

The event brought together top-performing agents and members of the Bank’s Agent Network team from across the country to recognise excellence, strengthen partnerships, and celebrate the critical role agents continue to play in advancing financial inclusion.

The annual engagement is a key milestone in Fidelity Bank’s agency banking calendar, providing a platform to acknowledge agents who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and performance over the past 12 months.

It also recognises the efforts of Agent Network Officers (ANOs), whose work in onboarding, managing, and supporting agents has been instrumental in sustaining Fidelity Bank’s position as the leading agency banking provider and lastly, to outline a bold strategic roadmap for 2026 designed to cement Fidelity’s dominance in the inclusive banking space.

Godfred Attafuah, Ag. Divisional Director for Retail Banking described the agent network as not merely a channel, but the bank’s most vital partner in community engagement.

“Tonight is about recognising a fundamental truth: our agents are the lifeblood of our financial inclusion strategy,” Mr Attafuah stated. “You are the face of Fidelity Bank in communities where traditional branches cannot reach.

Your diligence over the past 12 months has not only upheld our position as the market leader but has also actively transformed lives by bringing formal financial services to the informal sector.

As we move forward, our commitment is to ensure that this partnership remains profitable, sustainable, and empowering for every one of you.”

Awards were presented in several competitive categories. George Ventures from the Eastern Territory emerged as the Overall Best Agent – National, receiving a Dell laptop and a cash prize.

Brilin Top Enterprise, also from the Eastern Territory, was named First Runner-Up and awarded a Samsung double-door refrigerator and a cash prize, while Amandze Ba Ventures from the Western Territory was adjudged Second Runner-Up, receiving a 55-inch TCL Smart TV as well as a cash prize.

The bank also honoured its Agent Network Officers (ANOs), the unsung heroes responsible for onboarding, training, and managing the agent network.

They were awarded prizes ranging from televisions to air conditioners and refrigerators for their exceptional role in advancing the bank’s financial inclusion targets.

Nene K. Aggudey Sowu-Dawudibi from the BA Territory, William Ohene Kena from the BA Territory, and James Aganda Adocta from Northern Territory were adjudged the overall best, First Runner-up and Second Runner-Up respectively.

Highlighting the operational strides made over the year, Dr David Okyere, Head of Agency Banking at Fidelity Bank, noted that several initiatives had been rolled out to improve agent experience and strengthen market presence.

“Over the past year, we introduced key enhancements such as mobile app withdrawals, increased withdrawal limits, and the free withdrawal campaign,” he explained. “These were designed deliberately to make agents more competitive, more efficient, and better positioned to serve customers.”

Looking ahead, Fidelity Bank has unveiled a comprehensive strategic plan to enhance its service delivery framework. The bank plans to implement several key advancements designed to maximise agent engagement and drive significant improvements in operational efficiency.

By prioritising a more robust support structure and refined digital workflows, the bank aims to empower its partners while simultaneously modernising its service delivery.

These strategic investments are expected to solidify the bank’s market position, fostering a more agile ecosystem that benefits both the institution and its wider network

According to Dr Okyere, these initiatives reflect the Bank’s long-term view of agency banking as a growth engine.

“We are building an ecosystem where agents can operate sustainably, scale their businesses, and deliver better experiences to customers,” he said. “When our agents grow, our communities grow.”

The National Agent Engagement and Awards Night reaffirmed Fidelity Bank’s commitment to partnership-led growth and its belief that financial inclusion is best achieved by empowering the people closest to the customer.
