Fidelity Bank Limited has donated 1,000 pieces of nose marks to the Greater Accra Secretariat of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to assist in the prevention of the COVID-19.

Mr Peter Fodjor, the Director of Channels and Sales, who made the presentation on behalf of the Bank in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the donation was part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility to support the Union to protect their members from the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the gesture was also to assist the government in its efforts to fight against the virus.
Mr Fodjor said: “In our fight against the pandemic, we need to join hands as stakeholders to successfully reduce the spread and protect the people, especially the GPRTU members who also play the role of frontline workers as they carry passengers to and fro.”

He gave the assurance that the Bank would continue to give its support to compliment government in the fight against the disease.

Mr Ibrahim Abass Moro, the Senior Industrial Relations Officer of the Union who received the items expressed gratitude to the Bank for its demonstration of care for transport operators as they risk their lives in serving the public.

He praised the government for the steps taken to contain the spread of the virus.
