Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim is on the verge of representing Benin at the international level.
The playmaker, who currently features for FC Drita in Kosovo, has reportedly agreed to switch allegiance to the Squirrels after discussions with the Benin Football Federation.
His family roots in the West African nation make him eligible to feature for them.
Salifu, who featured for Hearts from 2021-24 from Eleven Wonders and won Ghana Premier League title, also contributed to the title triumph of FC Drita in the Kosovan league.
It is understood he has caught the eye of Benin coach Gernot Rohr, who is keen to include him in the next international window.
Benin, who recently booked their place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, have been drawn in Group D against DR Congo, Senegal, and Botswana.
