ESDEV Foundation Africa, Gebeya partner to boost digital skills and youth employment in Ghana

ESDEV Foundation Africa and digital talent marketplace Gebeya have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening digital skills, promoting innovation and expanding employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people across Ghana.

The collaboration, announced in Accra, aligns with the Government of Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) reforms, and youth employment strategies.

The partners say the initiative is designed to make a practical contribution to national development by preparing young people for participation in the digital economy.

Under the partnership, ESDEV will leverage its networks and experience in education, youth empowerment and innovation, while Gebeya will provide access to its AI-enabled digital tools.

These include Gebeya Dala, a no-code platform for building digital products, and Gebeya Jitume, a service-based platform that allows users to manage and monetise online work.

The combined approach is expected to support students, freelancers and small and medium-sized enterprises to translate ideas into income-generating ventures, while strengthening Ghana’s growing innovation ecosystem.

Through joint digital training programmes, innovation initiatives and entrepreneurship support, the partners aim to equip Ghanaian youth with future-ready skills to compete in the global marketplace.

The initiative will also complement ESDEV’s flagship Innovate4Employment programme, which supports start-ups to build practical competencies and contribute to economic growth.

“This partnership amplifies our commitment to preparing Ghanaian youth for the future of work,” said Sarah Osei, Programmes and Communications Lead at ESDEV Foundation Africa. “By merging ESDEV’s strong education and skills development platforms with Gebeya’s technology-driven solutions, including Dala and Jitume, we are unlocking new pathways for young people to build, innovate and lead.”

Gebeya’s Chief Executive Officer, Amadou Daffe, described the collaboration as an example of African-led innovation addressing critical development needs.

“By integrating Gebeya’s cutting-edge AI-enabled platforms directly into ESDEV’s robust educational framework, we are delivering an immediate, no-code pathway to the digital economy,” he said. “We are proud to align with Ghana’s digital transformation agenda and empower young people to turn digital creativity into scalable, income-generating ventures.”

The two organisations have invited government agencies, academic institutions, industry players, development partners, SMEs and youth groups to support the initiative, which they say marks a significant step towards improving national competitiveness and broadening economic participation.

ESDEV Foundation Africa is a pan-African organisation focused on advancing education, skills development, innovation and youth empowerment to support Africa’s socio-economic transformation.
