Entertainment Week Ghana 2025 rolls out events to shape Africa’s creative future

Ghana is set to become the continent’s cultural meeting point this December as Entertainment Week Ghana makes its debut.

The week-long festival runs from December 21 to 27, 2025, and promises a packed programme of summits, screenings, concerts, art and fashion that aim to move conversations about Africa’s creative economy from aspiration to action.

At the heart of the programme is the Entertainment Week Ghana Thought Leadership Summit on December 24 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The Thought Leadership Summit

The summit will bring together policymakers, investors, creators and industry experts to tackle the business of culture from financing and intellectual property to media technology and cultural policy.

A live Deal Room will give startups and creators the chance to pitch directly to investors and accelerators, while the Novas Awards will be introduced as a platform to celebrate creative excellence and will be rolled out fully at future editions.

Film Festival

Film takes centre stage through a curated festival produced in partnership with Idris Elba’s global media firm Akuna Pod and Bravado.

The festival will feature premieres, screenings and conversations designed to spotlight African and diaspora storytelling and grow the industry’s profile on the global stage.

Akuna Pod’s recent activity on the continent underlines the company’s growing engagement with Ghana’s screen sector.

Music Festival

Music arrives with Airwaves, a beachside festival powered by Lynx Entertainment. Airwaves will showcase headline sets, DJ performances and producer showcases on Accra’s shoreline as part of the city’s wider Detty December celebrations.

The festival partner has already signalled programming and production support that aims to make Airwaves a marquee December event.

Photo & Art Exhibition

Visual artists and photographers open the week at Osu Castle with Mununkum, a photo and art exhibition exploring evolving African identities through visual storytelling.

Fashion Event

Fashion will get a sustainability focus at Atale, a runway event championing circular design and eco-conscious labels, with established Ghanaian brands expected to participate.

Together these events signal an intention to showcase a full spectrum of creative disciplines and their commercial potential.

Entertainment Week Ghana arrives with strong institutional backing and corporate support.

Konica Minolta has been announced as the headline sponsor, while strategic partners include Akuna Pod, Ashesi University, Bravado and Lynx Entertainment.

The festival also lists endorsements from the Black Star Experience, the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President, the National Film Authority and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Development.

The organisers say the week is designed to unlock investment, mentorship and infrastructure that can scale creative businesses across the continent.

With the global cultural economy valued in the trillions and Africa’s creative sector drawing increasing investor interest, Entertainment Week Ghana aims to turn conversation into capital.

For creatives, entrepreneurs and investors looking to connect in Accra this December, the event offers panels, pitch rooms, screenings and festivals that are designed to convert talent into sustainable business.
