Energy Ministry partners 12th Ghana Oil and Gas Awards to promote industry excellence

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced its partnership with Xodus Communications Limited for the upcoming 12th Ghana Oil and Gas Awards (GOGA), scheduled for December 12, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

The awards ceremony, a flagship event in Ghana’s energy calendar, seeks to honour outstanding individuals and institutions contributing to the growth and sustainability of the oil and gas industry across both the upstream and downstream sectors.

The confirmation of the partnership followed a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, by a delegation from Xodus Communications Limited, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Richard Abbey Junior.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s strong support for the initiative, emphasising the significance of the awards in recognising innovation, efficiency, and responsible leadership within the energy sector.

The Ghana Oil and Gas Awards, organised annually by Xodus Communications Limited, acknowledge local and international companies that have demonstrated excellence and contributed significantly to the advancement of Ghana’s petroleum industry.

The partnership, according to the Ministry, underscores its commitment to driving Africa’s energy transition agenda and positioning GOGA as a platform that inspires collaboration, inclusion, and progress among industry players.

“The Ministry recognises the importance of inclusion and local leadership in addressing energy challenges and commends GOGA for creating a platform where players can network and support each other,” the Ministry noted.

CEO of Xodus Communications Limited, Richard Abbey Junior, expressed appreciation to the Ministry for its continuous support.

“We are extremely pleased with the significant support provided by the Ministry of Energy. Our collective objective is to establish a premier platform for industry stakeholders to foster effective collaboration while acknowledging their diligent efforts throughout the past year,” he said.

The 2025 edition of GOGA is expected to attract key stakeholders, policymakers, and investors, reaffirming Ghana’s leadership role in shaping a sustainable and innovative oil and gas industry in Africa.
