Ghanaian musician Edem unveiled the details about a challenging period in his life, including a devastating motor accident in 2023.

Speaking with Doreen Avio in an interview on Daybreak Hitz, Edem the issue cost him fortunes.

The accident had a significant impact on Edem’s career, with many promoters canceling his shows due to uncertainty surrounding the situation.

“This event happened on the 10th of December, 2023, and every promoter canceled our show. Like, the team will get a call, ‘Oh, bro, we won’t push the date.’ You know, because they didn’t know what was happening,” Edem revealed.

He further stated that the case took him out of the public eye for some time.

“What the whole world didn’t know was that from that 2023, the 10th of December, we were in court till February of this year. Yeah, we were in court about the accident. And so it was in February that the court came back with advice and cleared us from the case, so that’s like a year and a half,” he said.

Edem praised his team for their efforts in managing the situation seamlessly.

“And I think my team did a really, really good job managing the situation. And we also wanted to make sure that we do due diligence and make sure that every proof that was required, like we going to the accident site, taking the police people to do the measurements, aiding them with all the investigations, reporting in court diligently over two years,” he stated.

“The high office cleared us with all the evidence they gathered and all the police reports, and so we thank God,” he added.

Edem reflected on the emotional and financial toll of the accident and the things he had to go through.

“Sometimes you’ll be going through so much and people don’t know. You are paying for a whole funeral, you are doing expenses, and so it’s a lot of things dealing with the family. Somebody lost their life. Even though the person had a mental health problem, it’s still a human being, you know, so you have to,” he noted.

On December 10, 2023, Edem was reported to have knocked down middle aged woman on the George Walker Bush Highway at about 2 a.m after returning from a programme at UTV.
