Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Dr Kingsley Agyemang, marked his birthday with a gesture that has drawn widespread admiration by settling the full medical bills of every in-patient at the Kyebi Government Hospital, the same facility where he was born prematurely.
Dr Agyemang visited the hospital on Monday, engaging with patients, staff, and mothers at the pre-term ward. Witnesses said the MP became visibly emotional as he reflected on his early beginnings.

“This hospital gave me a chance at life when I came into the world as a fragile pre-term baby,” he said. “It has always been my desire to return and say ‘thank you’ in a meaningful way.”
Hospital authorities praised the support, stressing that it has eased the financial burden on several families struggling with healthcare costs.

“This gesture comes at a crucial time for many of our patients,” an official noted. “The relief is immense.”
Dr Agyemang described the intervention as both symbolic and deeply personal.
“I am who I am today because this facility nurtured me at my most vulnerable,” he added. “Giving back is the least I can do.”

Some beneficiaries also expressed deep gratitude to the MP, describing him as “the leader we never had.” They said the gesture lifted a heavy burden and restored hope at a difficult moment.
Residents and well-wishers have since applauded the MP’s act of kindness, calling it a powerful demonstration of humility, gratitude, and genuine community service.
