Dr John Kpikpi outlines PAG's vision for national transformation on US tour

The presidential aspirant of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana (PAG), Drs John Kpikpi, has unveiled an ambitious blueprint aimed at reversing Ghana’s decades-long decline and steering the nation toward inclusive prosperity.

Speaking to Ghanaians in the United States as part of his outreach tour, Dr Kpikpi outlined PAG’s vision to rebuild the nation through five powerful, interconnected transformations in agriculture, industry, natural resources, infrastructure, and ethics.

Transforming Agriculture for Self-Sufficiency

According to Dr Kpikpi, PAG’s agricultural transformation agenda seeks to make Ghana self-sufficient in key sectors such as rice and poultry within three years.

He explained that this move will drastically reduce the nation’s dependence on imports, create sustainable employment, and retain wealth within the local economy.

“Our goal is to feed ourselves, employ our people, and keep Ghana’s money in Ghana,” he stated.

Building an Industrial Powerhouse

Dr. Kpikpi highlighted industrial transformation as the second pillar of PAG’s development agenda. The party aims to encourage local manufacturing of both basic and high-tech goods.

This, he said, would stimulate local industries, create millions of jobs, and position Ghana as a global industrial player.

“We cannot continue to import what we can make. Ghana must build, Ghana must produce,” he emphasised.

Taking Ownership of Natural Resources

Touching on the management of natural resources, Dr Kpikpi lamented that Ghana has, for too long, ceded ownership and control of its vast resources to foreign interests.

Under PAG’s natural resource transformation, the party intends to ensure that ownership and management of resources are firmly placed in the hands of Ghanaians.

“We will invest in our own people to manage our gold, oil, and other natural resources so that the wealth of this land benefits every Ghanaian,” he declared.

Modernising Infrastructure for Growth

Dr Kpikpi also underscored the importance of infrastructure modernisation in boosting economic productivity.

The party’s vision includes improving transportation, energy, and communication systems to support business growth and enhance social integration.

“No country can progress without a solid infrastructure base. Ours must be modern, efficient, and accessible to all,” he added.

Promoting Ethics and Integrity in Governance

At the heart of PAG’s agenda lies an ethical transformation to restore integrity and transparency in governance.

Dr Kpikpi called for a new national culture that rejects corruption and rewards honesty.

“We will nurture ethical leadership and rebuild public trust in government. This is the foundation of a prosperous Ghana,” he affirmed.

Political and Governance Reforms

Beyond economic transformation, the meeting also addressed the urgent need to reshape Ghana’s political culture.

Dr Kpikpi expressed concern over the growing influence of money in elections and called for efforts to educate citizens on their worth beyond monetary incentives.

He further proposed a decentralised governance structure to empower local communities and promote accountability.

His speech also touched on plans to engage religious institutions, schools, and community leaders to promote integrity and responsible citizenship.

Discussions also included possible structural reforms, such as revising the current 16-region system into smaller, more efficient administrative units.

Implementation Strategy

To ensure effective execution, Dr Kpikpi revealed that PAG’s vision will be implemented through dedicated task forces, innovative cooperatives, and strategic partnerships.

These mechanisms, he said, will guarantee accountability, transparency, and measurable progress.

“The five powerful transformations will secure Ghana’s wealth and channel it into healthcare, education, housing, social welfare, and leisure for all the over 34 million Ghanaians,” Dr Kpikpi stated, concluding with a passionate call for support and membership in the Progressive Alliance for Ghana.

He reiterated his belief that with collective effort, discipline, and integrity, Ghana can be recreated into a nation of shared prosperity and justice for all.
