With some 48 hours to go for the much-awaited meeting between Isaac Dogboe and Robeisy Ramirez on April 1, certain aspirations are not lost at all on the head of his team.

After working with a number of world champions including Gervonta Davis, Lamont Peterson and undisputed Women’s super middleweight Champion, Franchon Crews-Dezurn, Coach Barry Hunter’s misson is to make history.

After seeing Isaac Dogboe successfully through all the fights post his losses there is a new direction. What inspires and fuels his Marslow’s Need Theory is to see Isaac strap on another belt that will propel him to a place of a select few amongst Ghana’s 10 world champions.

“We have been through titles in amateur and pro. Now I am chasing history,” he told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview.

“I want Dogboe to win this for the people of Ghana.” Coach Hunter also revealed his admiration for two Ghanaian legends who have inspired hus respect for Ghanaian boxing talents.

“I am a big fan of of Ike Quartey and Azumah Nelson. They were just amazing.” Coach Barry Hunter also dreams of a day when he and the rest of his team will visit Ghana with a title to show the people.

“Because of history I want us to win the title and bring it back to Ghana,” he added.

According to Coach Barry Hunter the journey or recovery from the losses Dogboe suffered were not that simple.

“He found himself in a very dark place and there were days when I had to excuse him from gym work, so we would focus on psyching him up.”

Isaac Dogboe has had a successful training camp at the Headbangers Gym at the Bald Eagle center in Washington DC fir some months.

Dogboe’s inspiration for becoming a two division champion will be from two Ghanaian legends. The first is Hall of Fame Inductee, Azumah Nelson who sealed his place as Africa’s greatest boxer in his active years between 1979 to 2008. He having held the WBC featherweight title from 1984 to 1987 and the WBC super-featherweight title twice between 1988 and 1997.

Then comes ‘Mavelous’ Nana Yaw Konadu who was a world champion in super flyweight and bantamweight. Konadu held the WBC super-flyweight title from 1989 to 1990, and the WBA bantamweight title twice between 1996 and 1998.

Dogboe goes into this bout having won 24 of his 26 bouts while Robeisy Eloy Ramirez Carrazana has 11 wins in 12 bouts.
