Diana Hamilton narrates how she got Elder Mireku, Ntokozo on Aha Ye

Award-winning gospel singer Diana Antwi Hamilton has shared how she was able to feature legendary gospel musician Elder Emmanuel Kwasi Mireku and South African gospel sensation Ntokozo Mbambo on her latest song, Aha Ye.

In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show, she narrated that the song came to her when she visited Elder Mireku to sympathise with him after the passing of his father. During the visit, they had a worship session, and she began singing the song.

She explained that she never thought of recording it officially until Elder Mireku posted a clip of that session, and she realised it was a powerful piece that could impact lives.

Before that visit, a line from the song had already been ringing in her mind during her personal worship session. She sang it briefly, and it stayed with her on her way to Elder Mireku’s house.

“I got to Elder and after we exchanged pleasantries, he said we should worship. He brought his keyboard and told his son to record the worship time. So, we worshiped for like 30 minutes singing and the song hit me again then I said to him to change the key and he just stood on it, then I started blowing in tongues for a while then the song came up again ‘it’s a me and you time’ and there he was on his keys, not necessarily singing, but was like eeeeh….oooooh….praise God… and all I did was sing. We sang it for another God knows how many minutes. We thought we had had a good time in God’s presence, and I left to my house. The next morning, he had chopped the worship sessions we did together and posted all of them on social media. Then I saw that on Tik Tok and said there’s something with this song. I called him and told them to tell daddy to pull that particular one down; there’s something with that song that we need to record, and he just went straight and took it off.”

Regarding Ntokozo Mbambo’s involvement, Diana Hamilton said she informed her while they were on their way to Kumasi after the Accra edition of Experience 2025.

“Ntokozo came in when we had finished Accra Experience and were on our way to Kumasi in a VIP bus that somebody had sponsored us with. Then it hit me that she’s my friend, it’s an English song, it has a contemporary feel to it. So, I picked my phone, called her and said I have a song and she said I don’t have to finish, she’s in.”

According to her, Ntokozo never got the chance to listen to the song until she arrived in Ghana for Dominion Praise.

She clarified that featuring the two gospel sensations was never a marketing strategy, as some people might have perceived.

Aha Ye which means this is a good place, is a spirit-filled song that has now been released and is currently streaming on all digital platforms.
