Delta Air Lines, in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Ghana, hosted an exclusive International Women’s Day High Tea event under the theme “Give to Gain,” bringing together 80 women leaders, professionals, and changemakers across Ghana for an afternoon focused on connection, empowerment, and action.

The event, held in honour of Women’s Month, created a dedicated platform for women to exchange insights, share experiences, and explore practical ways to support one another’s growth in leadership and decision making roles across Ghana and the wider region.

This year’s gathering also marks Delta Air Lines’ two decades of presence in Ghana — a journey defined not only by connecting Accra to global destinations, but by sustained investment in partnerships and initiatives that deliver measurable impact within communities.

Speaking at the event, Delta Air Lines GSA Manager, Eloina Baddoo, emphasized the importance of moving beyond celebration to achieve real progress.

“This year’s theme challenges us to turn support into tangible results. At Delta, we believe that when women lift one another, opportunities expand and impact multiplies. Progress is not only about individual achievements—it’s about opening doors, championing one another, and creating change that strengthens our workplaces, communities, and networks.”

She highlighted Delta’s dedication to building connections, elevating women’s voices, and supporting initiatives that drive measurable progress in communities, workplaces, and opportunities for the next generation of leaders.

Reflecting on the strategic partnership with Delta, the CEO of AmCham Ghana, Doris Afanyedey, said: “Empowering women takes deliberate collaboration—mentorship, advocacy, and creating access. Our partnership with Delta ensures platforms like this move recognition into action. Together, we are enabling women to influence industries and communities while building a foundation for future leaders.”

The Deputy Chief of Staff, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, who was the Guest of Honour, emphasized the national importance of the gathering.

“Today’s event reminds us that when women are supported, communities thrive and nations progress. I commend Delta and AmCham for creating a platform that not only celebrates women but encourages meaningful action. Empowering women is not a one day commitment—it is a responsibility we all share.”

The High Tea fostered open conversations and practical idea sharing. Participants discussed ways to mentor emerging leaders, amplify women’s representation, and champion opportunities across professional and community spaces.

The event concluded with remarks from renowned author, speaker, and singer Michelle McKinney Hammond, who encouraged women to embrace collective uplift.

“Women rise higher when we rise together.”

She urged attendees to translate the day’s inspiration into concrete steps that support women across Ghana and beyond.

Entrepreneur and attendee Akosua Agyenim described the event as deeply inspiring. She shared that being in a room full of accomplished and supportive women was energizing, noting that the conversations were honest and practical.

She left feeling “seen, encouraged, and ready to do more—not just for myself, but for other women as well.”
