A high school student from Delaware Military Academy, Maame Adwoa Kyeremaah Manu, has donated medical supplies to the Child Health Emergency Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

The items presented were valued at a total of $1,500 including a cash donation.

Speaking on the motivation for this donation, Miss Manu said, her love for giving and desire to see young children receive the medical assistance they need to live inspired her.

She said “I am honored to be here today because I recognise the significant need for assistance in various parts of Ghana. I am grateful for the opportunities that have led me to this moment. A passion of mine has always been to contribute and support those facing challenging circumstances, both in Ghana and beyond. Today, I am particularly excited about the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children in need.”

She also shared that her ultimate goal was to assist young children suffering from various ailments to enjoy living instead of merely surviving.

“True giving stems from the heart, driven by a desire to enhance the lives of others. The aim of this project is not just to give back but also to ensure that the essentials for survival are provided. By doing so, we empower these children to move beyond mere survival and truly embrace life. I am optimistic about the potential for a better future and the opportunities that these children can aspire to. As we come together to support the Children’s Ward, I hope we can collectively commit to providing the essentials that enable these children to thrive and embrace life fully.”
