The De Mayor Foundation, founded by David Selasie Anthony, has supported more than 700 widows and vulnerable persons at Adeiso in the Upper West Akim District of the Eastern Region as part of activities marking the Christmas and New Year festivities.
The Foundation provided each widow with a 5kg bag of rice, alongside 500 chickens, 1,000 pieces of branded exercise books, assorted drinks, cooking oil, and other food items.
In addition to the donations, a free health screening was organised by a team of nurses and doctors from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), offering medical support to beneficiaries to help ensure their well-being.
Beneficiaries included widows, other vulnerable community members, and schoolchildren, who received essential items to support their daily needs.
Founder of the Foundation, David Selasie Anthony, stated that the initiative would be extended to other regions in the coming days and expressed gratitude to the Adeiso community for their support and for providing the Foundation with the opportunity to serve.
He reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable groups, particularly widows and children.
“It is always easy to feel forgotten when you have nobody to care for your needs, but I want to assure you who are gathered here that we are concerned about your welfare and the children,” he stated.
He also called on the public to support the less privileged, stressing that national development requires collective effort.
“Let’s all help the less privileged wherever we find ourselves. Government cannot do it all; everybody must come on board so Ghana will be a better place for us all,” he appealed.
Through these initiatives, the De Mayor Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the health and welfare of communities across the country.
