Commodore FA Nyarko, Col Beesi Eduah, and Col F Kusi-Darko appointed to lead GAF recruitment exercise in G. Accra

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced new leadership for its 2025/2026 recruitment exercise in the Greater Accra Region, following last week’s suspension of the process.

The resumption is scheduled for Thursday, 20th November 2025, with a revised management team appointed to ensure a smooth and orderly process.

Colonel GB Eduah, alongside Commodore FA Nyarko and Colonel F Kusi-Darko, has assumed key roles within the recruitment operation.

Colonel Eduah will serve as Director of Information Technology, overseeing all digital and communications aspects of the exercise. Commodore Nyarko takes on the role of Director General Human Resource, while Colonel Kusi-Darko assumes duties as Director of Manpower.

The recruitment exercise will take place across eight screening centres in five locations: El-Wak Stadium, Nicholson Park (Burma Camp), Air Force Base (Burma Camp), Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in Teshie, and Eastern Naval Command in Tema.

Qualified applicants will be notified in batches of 600 via SMS, detailing their reporting dates, batches, and designated centres.

The Ghana Armed Forces has emphasised strict adherence to instructions and has requested that families and friends refrain from accompanying recruits to avoid congestion.

The organisation has also assured the public that anyone found culpable following the Board of Inquiry will face appropriate sanctions.

Background

On Wednesday, November 12, six job seekers have died, with several others injured, following a stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra during the Ghana Armed Forces’ 2025/2026 recruitment exercise.

According to a statement from the Ghana Armed Forces, the tragedy occurred around 6:20 a.m. when an unexpected surge of applicants breached security protocols and forced their way through the gates ahead of the scheduled screening.
